How about something more deadly than a electrode boiler, how about a DC output Electrolysis water testing.
Like the water boiler but puts rust in the water and also has a slight chance of exploding if you light a flame on it.
Do not buy it if you value your life.

Yes, but frankly I prefer vids with educational value rather than entertainment ;) I'm sure most of us can recognise stupid/dangerous products on here... I hope.....

10A 250V = 2,500W,
By the time it gets they it could of easily have gone up in flames as the flex is not rated for that they exploded because of the cases from putting DC in water.

Fuse no good with an unpolarised plug, it could be in the neutral so provides no protection at all.

I find the recent "trend" of mass-mailing Dave random worthless stuff I couldn't possibly care less about, for mailbag, extremely annoying. I'm already fast forwarding through the obligatory cheap DMM in each segment like I'm doing with commercials. My opinion: it's pointless, boring, not funny at all. Zero entertainment or educational value for me whatsoever. Probably the only way for people to stop flooding Dave with 5$ DMMs and such is for him to start ignoring them (editing-out the fragment after he realizes what it is). Also, what a waste of resources. Someone has to ship the damn thing from China, someone has to deliver it, recycle after Dave throws it in the bin right after or during the recording... what for, what's the point? :-//

The amount of teardowns is quite low these days. He seems to be very busy with other stuff so it seems.

If I want to laugh at cheap Chinese crap, I can find plenty myself at very little cost and "free" e-packet delivery. I generally don't do it because of embarrassment at wasting the Post Office's time.
I'd probably like the mailbag segments better if there were more interesting older items and first looks at newer products. Dave, of course, is going to do whatever he wants and whatever more people watch.
I won't even mention the tacky, giant size, bright green tabloid style title text. I promise.

In the UK postal choice are limited internationally useless your sending heavy items at high costs and if you send about £25 sending a heavy item to Dave they is no guarantee he is going to show it aka chinese stuff is alot lower financial risk when you do not have an unlimited budget.

The yellow discoloration from using Stainless Steel electrodes is due to chromium compounds, some of which actually contain hexavalent chromium. :--

I pretty much just watch his stuff out of habit now. What he has in his favour is very limited competition. Even though and a good portion gets fast forwarded I'll usually watch whatever shows up when I hit refresh. I can't remember the last video that was interesting. The microphone series maybe?
Take apart shit no-one cares about. Do Sagan kindergarten while opening mail. Give me a break. He's lost his mojo. Compare this with Sharirer (sp?) who does meticulous videos with extremely narrow appeal and still gets around 20% of the views.
I wish he'd make something or hack something. The light on the hako was interesting. The not-to-be-spoken-of-u-supply was very interesting. That scope repair 6 months ago was interesting enough.
3 videos a week. 6 hours per video. I've been thinking of giving it a crack myself.
Anyway. Here's 10 minutes of my ideas:
Grab an old iphone 5 whatever it was and get the data off it. Grab an old laptop and hack the charging circuitry for a new super-battery. Make a small switching supply for something. Hack the fluke DMM data protocol and build an ir>bluetooth adaptor. Hack a microwave with a super cap to drive the clock when the power fails. Make kids shoes that emit noise when they walk and give them to a friends kid. Take a look at IoT security best practice. Make the windscreen wipers on his car go when they sense rain. Hack those beeping, flashing "your meal's ready" things they give you in bistros and bars so you can make them go off whenever you like. (actually I might do that one myself!) Make a quick and dirty home-made "your meat's done" thermometer. Check his fridge efficiency and compare it with a home made pid controller. Make a sensor for his mail box that sends an SMS when the post office put something in there. Remake the classic old FM bug with tiny smd stuff. Modify a cheap FM radio to pick up in-stadium broadcasts. Chat about thermocouples that aren't k-type. Cut the leads on that multimeter he smashed pointlessly and see if they're multi layered insulation. See how the ends are joined. Flex them until they break. Read the firmware off a printer and look at the code that adds the yellow dots. Reverse engineer a smart electricity meter and modify the firmware.
Stop complaining about how pointless/hard/crap/uneconomical everything is and do something just for the fun of it.

I hate to be critical but i greatly fear becoming one of those sycophantic enablers who just wash in and out with the tide and tell Dave everything he does is great. Well the tide has a shark in it somewhere. Somebody send Dave a pair of water skis. Will that be deadly enough.
I generally prefer to keep my mouth shut. There aren't many topics I know and care enough about to add to the collective wisdom here.
It's really none of my business what Dave does with his time or what he posts videos about. I can't imagine he gives a shit what I think. I know I wouldn't. I can imagine how many twats he gets asking for/giving the same advice. It'd drive me crazy.
My self justification in this instance was that I tried to at least contribute some inspiration.
Anyway, the forum and community more than make up for my video apathy.
Enough off-topic from me. Sorry to derail another thread.

The EEV Blog appears to be changing and not in a good way. After you ignore the multimeter destruction, the energy saving wipes and the water heater not much technical content is left over the last month or so. I discovered the last one a couple of weeks ago and it's a useful site for those wishing to learn about radio repair. I do however fondly remember the days of Teardown Tuesday and Fundamentals Friday, maybe they'll return.

Voltlog has had some interesting stuff too. TBH I thought we learned that finding aliens was a waste of energy 13 years ago and people moved almost exclusively to F@H, which seemed a more plausible effort.
