Title: Ordering at Soanar Plus
Post by: GK on December 26, 2012, 01:36:10 pm
I just went to the Sonar Plus website to order some stuff for personal use. Now, to order from them, one apparently needs to register for a trade account first, providing both a business name and an ABN. You can't even look up prices anymore without being registered and logging on  :--

I guess they would now prefer me, as an individual, to purchase my bits for personal use from their Jaycar wing and pay their inflated prices instead; and without the complementary jellybeans.

A$$holes!

If they want to play that way I think I will now make a deliberate effort NOT to purchase work related items from them anymore, if the items can be readily sourced from elsewhere.

What????????

So nobody else buys hobby bits from Soanar Plus and are now pissed that they have to submit an ABN?????
Wasn't the "trade account" thing what Electus Distribution was for?

Yes, that's what Jaycar is for. Shop around.

Well, only until very recently, it would seem. I was always under the assumption that Soanar, being mail order only, offered the lower prices to the public due to the lower operating overheads that must come with not having to operate and staff a few dozen stores over the country.
