Sad to hear that, one of Canada's finest.

May 1st is also the day Ayrton Senna died in 1994.

Harry Belafonte died too just a few days ago, two legendary entertainers gone in the space of a couple of weeks.

Gordon Lightfoot:  having grown up in Duluth on Lake Superior, I was affected by his great song about the Edmund Fitzgerald, and his careful use of the facts of the incident.
The Toronto TV show SCTV gave him an interesting compliment, parodying a TV record offer for "Every song ever written, sung by Gordon Lightfoot" that included Good King Wenceslas.

The  Economist obituary noted that Mr Humphries and Dame Edna died on the same day.
