OT: What state am I in?

And why should it be any other way? The caps are physically there, and may protrude beyond the dimensions of the part itself. Having the cap in the model helps you identify interference. You’d hate it if you spun a board and then couldn’t get it pick-and-placed because the connector caps are in the way.

Agree. But it is strange to make caps in the way.
