It seems there are lots of money, in Germany! Differently from in our countries, Kiri!
We don't even have a decent chair, here in the lab at uni...

Would not be possible in the UK due to health and safety regulations.

Of course in the US, this wouldn't be possible unless someone was making money on it.  Price of admission would be high. :)

Yeah, I can just imagine the approvals that would be needed to get this passed and classed as an amusement ride.

This country is going down the drain (healthily and safely) thanks to councils' and bureaucrats' tireless work.

Carpenters are told that sweeping wood chippings is dangerous: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2433513/Ridiculous-health-and-safety-rules-tell-carpenters-to-ban-the-broom.html
Pupils must wear goggles when they handle Blu-Tack in class and banned wearing plastic headbands: http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2009/jun/19/blu-tack-goggles-health-safety
Council replaced the fire on Bonfire Night with large television screens: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/columnists/article-451547/How-Elf-n-safety-stole-country.html

Apart from an army of health and safety Nazis we have stupid public paid non-jobs like "community outreach officers", etc.

It's something like our civilization is reaching the opposite end, where in the name of freedom and safety you are slave to so many rules and not safe because you get unprepared to any contingency.

Nope, the fault lies entirely with the legal system. Bureaucrats only make those inane rules because they are afraid of having to pay multi-million dollar settlements. You can blame politicians and the voting public for our modern cotton wool and bubble wrap society.
