Title: Panavise 350 jaw dimensions
Post by: Helix70 on February 14, 2020, 12:41:41 pm
Can anyone with a Panavise 350 tell me what size the metal jaws are (the part that the neoprene soft jaws slide over).

I have a vise from a company called Royston Electronics that is about 40 years old and the jaws are stuffed. The Panavise ones look real similar.

The metal jaws on my vise are 38.1mm wide x 4.8mm thick (1.5 inches x 0.19 inches).

I have an old Panavise here and it's roughly (in dim light with a steel rule) 37.5 x 4.5mm - so I imagine its pretty much the same. Royston may have just re-badged the Panavise gear?
The clamp material looks to be stamped out of steel plate.

Thanks for that, sounds close enough. I might buy a set of neoprene soft jaws from Panavise to see if they fit.

Panavise 350 Jaws are 37.8mm wide x 4.56mm thick and 44.6mm tall (height where the rubber cover slides over the jaw) Width is +/- 0.5mm because the steel jaw pieces are sheared with rough edges.  Measurements taken with a genuine Mitutoyo digital caliper.

Thanks Greg. Sounds like I can make it work.
