But then again, our government in their infinite wisdom put taxes on capital.
You are not supposed to have money, spend it please.
If you have money, it is much harder to keep you in your shitty job, as a slave.
Anyone who does not have a minimum 6 months emergency budget, in a well paid job like engineering, is being foolish.
Nowadays, at least in the UK, there is no safety net. If you get ill and can't work, even if you have worked all your life and paid taxes, the bank will take your house or the landlord will evict you.
It is a tragic state of affairs. What can you do?
I was 17, when I met this homeless guy. I was at someone, he knocked at the door, they gave him some food.
Then they explained, that he was an EE before, lost his job, lost his family (wife left), had a drinking problem for a few years after that. Used to live in the same building. They said he is trying to get his life together, but it is really hard to get from 0 to 1, much harder than from 1 to 2.
I still think about this guy sometimes, although I only seen him once in my life.
