PEAKTECH 3340 DMM low end multimeter

This is just for fun. it can do uA, mA, A, A (  amper clamps ) ac dc, temp C F, Hz, Cap, Ohms Diode, Cont. test, V ac dc.

Since itvend did not provide a front picture of the Peaktech 3340, I had no pre-conceived notions or predujices about what I was to see.

Then I saw the bodge cap and soldering quality.  And then I saw the smd cap on top of the resistor (R44)   First thought,  right or wrong, CEM Instruments makes this meter.

Then I noticed the Chang/Cheng/Chong electrolytic caps.  CEM suspicion now seems likely.

Close examination of the pcb by F2 (fuse) shows a silk screen saying DT-2009. R1 is also obviously hand soldered and there is a nice bit of left over solder bits next to R47.

Looking at a picture of front of the Peaktech with its exaggerated tall lcd digits confirms it is a CEM rebranded meter.
