People that are insanely talented
raptor1956:
One thing I've enjoyed pretty much my whole life is watching people that are super talented doing what they do. It almost doesn't matter what it is, when someone is next level at almost anything it's a joy to watch. I'm no welder, don't have the kit and don't have the skill, but there's a guy that posts videos on YT on a channel called "6061.com" (https://www.youtube.com/c/6061com/videos) who is some kind of savant with welding and watching him make things is incredible.
So, I have to believe I'm not alone so if anyone has some other channels you can link here please do.

Awesome. I've been lamenting the state of Youtube. It's hard to find videos like these, anymore. I went through a bunch of welding channels a couple years ago, and YT never suggested 6061.
Since you can apparently stand videos without nonstop narration, here's a couple
Woodworking: Young Je. Just some dude making beautiful stuff in a gigantic workshop. And planes. Lots of building custom planes.
Metal fab: The Other Finnish Guy. 1001 things you didn't know you could do with an angle grinder, a stick welder, and a hydraulic press.
NiHaoMike:
Applied Science and Tech Ingredients - interesting projects that often involve scientific principles normally thought to be outside the reach of hobbyists.
Ashley Harwood and Kim Tippin - machining done "the old fashioned way".
glasslinger - DIY vacuum tubes from scratch!
Laura Kampf - lots of woodworking and metalworking.
Micah Elizabeth Scott (scanlime) - very skilled in programming and software hacking.
Naomi Wu (SexyCyborg) - was known for showing off while presenting technical topics, now developing a 3D printer optimized for small scale mass production.
The Signal Path - lots of RF related teardowns and repairs.
Xyla Foxlin - Did all sorts of projects for Beauty and the Bolt, now into advanced woodworking projects like a DIY boat.
jogri:
Mike Patey - building airplanes from scratch or completely overhauling and improving them
my mechanics - restauration of mechanic devices
Make it Extreme - buliding shop tools (hydraulic presses/cylinders, vises, etc) from scratch
tom66:
Jeri Ellsworth - from ~0 experience in designing ASICs to the release of the Commodore emulator C64 DTV, in 18 months if I recall correctly.
Seriously impressive, and her YouTube channel is well worth a look although she's been quiet recently.
