i really like both, but if i had to pick i would say pepsi. I seem to get bored with the flavor of coke more so than i do with pepsi.

Sadly i had too much of both as a teenager, i think my body has had enough of it, because now I always start to get a skin rash on my hands if i drinking more than a glass a month.

Luckily V energy drink doesn't do that, so i switched to drinking that :)
I try to keep it to 1-2 cans a week though.

I used to gulp down those V 4-packs while studying (and then usually flunking) for tests when I was in Auckland uni, for no other reason than that it was cheaper than Red Bull.

You confuse me. ??? I can't tell if you're teasing, or being a dick, or maybe a little of both :-//

You'll never know Partner (<that's French too) , being a stereotypical really has its weak points imo and is very easy to dick at ..

You are very close to "word salad" territory. I suggest you not trespass there, as a couple of other forum members have claimed the property before you.

There is only one: The Real Thing: Coca Cola :)
I used to be a chain coke drinker, my only addiction but I stopped drinking soda. I drink probably once a week.
I used to go to restaurants that serve coke products and not pepsi products. As I aged I became more tolerant so now I go anywhere if the food is good :)
I had to stop mainly because my family has a history of diabetes so I'm trying to have a healthier lifestyle: more exercise less sugar :)

But people who buy bottled water that's just basically filtered tap water I don't get. You just generate another plastic bottle.
now now... i have mine shipped from Fiji ! so it's not just another plastic bottle. there's the big shipping container ship to be paid as well...

Being a diabetic, neither. I did at one time drink Coke.
I must admit to the odd diet Coke but generally, just water - low in sugar and it's free!

I wonder if this one was ever heard outside of my glorious country:

Two drunkards spend their day by the shop, drinking cheap wine. Expensive car arrives, well-dressed couple gets off, enters the shop and gets back to the car, each carrying a bottle of mineral water, taking a sip. "Look dude" - says one - "they're drinking water". "Like animals," - says the other with disgust - "like animals..."

There ;)

The tap water in this town is perfectly good to drink but it's filtered/treated etc in a way that if you drink  a couple of glasses of water it tingles your throat... I don't want to say chlorine, it may be something chemically related to that, either way it's perfectly safe and within limits but some people just don't like it. I use it when I make a tea or some soup.

. well, at least they use "extract from Stevia plant" instead of artificial sweeteners

Ugh, that's something that really grates me as a T1 Diabetic when people say stuff like "you shouldn't' have that artificial sweetner it's a chemical!, you should use Stevia, it's natural from plants!!".

It makes me want to give them some tasty cyanide, that's natural from pants too.

I wasn't saying it's "natural", I was simply trying to say that my taste buds and my body tolerate it better, compared to corn syrup sucrose and aspartame and other sweeteners.

Stopped coke when I stopped using sugar, so now drink a lot of water. Still find now that if i drink any they are very sweet and undrinkable at any temperature.

Then again I do buy coke for use at home, as a quite good degreaser for clothing, and to remove rust stains from same.

I only like Coke when it's enhanced by a generous amount of liquor. It's awful on its own.

Guinness.

Brilliant!

I once saw a man send a Guinness back to the bartender because it sat on the counter too long and the bubbles were no longer sinking at the rate that they normally did.

I love that first sip when you haven't had a Guinness for a while and the rush of flavor hits you.

A coworker/friend who's family has roots in Ireland turned me on to it. It was right around the time I was old enough to drink and there was an Irish pub down the road from where we worked called Slattery Rand's. He slid me my first Guinness and said "Grab your knife and fork, dinner is served" and I've loved stout and other dark beers ever since.

It's available at most grocery stores in the US but 2 to 3 times as expensive as domestic beers. I'd say about 1 in 5 bars here carry it.

As a southerner, and especially as an Atlanta resident, I'm not allowed to answer this question any other way than "coke". Of course in many parts of the deep south, the word "Coke" is synonymous with any brand of carbonated drink. "Coke" in the south is interchangeable with "Pop" in the midwest. Pepsi is quite hard to get in restaurants due to exclusivity agreements.

I used to drink Coke far more as a younger man, but these days the caffeine totally screws with me - exacerbating my high blood pressure and if I have any caffeine after about noon then I will have insomnia the following night.

And it's pure hell trying to solder anything with the caffeine shakes!

That's exactly what I was asking myself reading your first post saying a hot Cola beverage tastes foul, yeah duh!
The only good application for a hot cola is a replacement for WD40.

neither coke nor pepsi

house brand generic ginger ale (President's Choice, Selection) if it has to be a soft drink

there's some exotic black cherry drink I like, but rarely drink it because of the expense

Cedar sour cherry juice by Noosh Iran Co., now that's good stuff, and not expensive

Hawthorn cola in China was much tastier than either coke or pepsi
(something like this but cola, not drink)

(used to eat Haw flakes too)

top fermented ales

and Chinese tea, like Pu Er, Oolong, Longjin, green, black, scented...

Cocoa in the morning (never coffee)

reiterate, neither coke nor pepsi

Neither. My favorite soda is nothing more than carbonated water, served chilled. No sugars or artificial sweeteners of any kind.

Though, when I want a lower calorie drink, I tend towards pepsi next, I don't like the idea of sodium saccharide used in diet coke/pepsi max or the aspartame in coke zero, so stevia it is :)

yeah, the stevia version of pepsi next is good. I wish you could buy it in NZ.

My favourite soft drink is Favorit Premium Swiss made Ice Tea - it containes real brewed tea and sugar - nothing else .
This stuff tastes way better than all the other soft drink concoctions made from sewage and toxic waste . . .  >:D

Coke ? 0,5L maximum in one sitting or it gives me the squits ! ( Cherry Coke doesn't )
Pepsi ? Yes i like it - no limit there .
And Guinness ? definitely a big YES - especially in a decent irish pub  :-+

All the artificial sweetener crap doesn't work for me - even a single piece of chewing gum containing this chemical BS will tie my ass to the big white telephone for the next 2 hours calling the emergency number - same as an overdose Coke . . .

Thanks metalphreak - the HELLBEARS review gives a clear picture of what happens to people like me if we eat or drink anything contaminated with artificial sweet chemocrap - although it never caught me that hard . . .  :scared:

My favourite coke was Bomba Cola. It was just better than the big two. It is almost impossible to get.

I like montain dew also. Not sold anymore here. Maybe I should have made a big stokpile of them. Today it is just coffe latte. Sometimes coke, but it must be metal can.

They are different in different countries. Coke has different formula, different sweeteners (the corn stuff in US, yikes...), etc. on the different markets. This being an international forum what is being compared here?
