Definitely Coke, more toxic chemicals and pesticides, tastes great. But since I'm always watching my weight, this means NO deliberate sugar--fructose in my diet  :-\, it's really bad for you and turns your diet into high fat one:

The coke zero is gooood less bubble and less acid than normal coke and better taste than pepsi (too sweet)

I actually found apparent acidity to be higher with coke zero than normal coke, and it's why I like it. ditto with the pepsi being too sweet sentiment, it's also feels more syrupy than coke, even pepsi max.

My favorite is coke: sometimes I use it to clean mechanical gears from grease: it works and is very cheap than use some other cleaning products...

Thanks for sharing this! Strange that in my country most soda's contain sucrose rather then the HFCS in yours, still bad.
So if the companies would substitue it for glucose the problem would be less? Oh well let's start drinking more water again, if the water is clean that is.

Only reason the USA uses HFCS is political protectionism of the market from imported cane sugar. As I can go around a 5 minute drive from my house and get it growing in a field here it is very strange. then again I am not drinking Coke or Pepsi any more, more water or soda water, with a dash of lemon juice.

Putting any of these additive laced sugar solutions into your body with any sort of frequency is bad news.
The occasional glass once in a while, fine. I see way to many people drinking them daily and feeding them to their kids, might as well take a sugar bowl and spoon.

Unfortunately Coke is now made with corn syrup in most areas of the US.  I wish they would go back to using cane sugar. It tasted better and had more kick to it then.

Back in the late 60s and early 70s before energy drinks I knew several people that raced bicycles. They would drink Coca-Cola a few hours before each race.  They would open it the night before so it was flat with no carbonation. You don't want to put a lot of gas in your stomach before a race.

I also agree, unless you are doing an activity that takes several hours only water should be ingested.  Energy drinks should be consumed way before or after, not during.

Pepsi Max.

I've not drank full sugar Coke or Pepsi for years and now no longer like the taste of it.

Some people worry about the sweetener aspartame but unless you're allergic to it, it's safe as it's metabolised into chemicals which are naturally found in food anyway.

Pepsi? Coke? Hell no, i prefer to know what goes down the hatch.
For me a stiff coffee in the morning (_definitely_ with the original caffeine), black no sugar. An occasional 12+ yr single malt in the evening; by preference  Aberlour Glenlivet. In between apple juice and/or mineral water - add coffee as needed when caffeine levels go down.
As far as mineral water is concerned I confess to being partial to the blue variety of Saskia Löningen from Lidl - known to many of our EU friends.

In a more serious vein, i have always wondered at the culture in some places of pouring absolute buckets of the sugary stuff into one's face daily. The sizes routinely sold in say a typical US burger joint would keep a caravan of camels going for a week in Sahara. Supersize me indeed.

I have a Soda Stream carbonator and a Britta pitcher to filter the nasty h2s out of our well water. Without the charcoal filtering the carbonated water is undrinkable.  I usually drink it with no flavoring or sugar. It has a good bite from the carbonation alone.

But if I'm feeling like a Rum & Coke, It's Coca-Cola and Captain Morgan. We keep a 2-Liter bottle of Coke around just for that purpose.

I run average 10 miles each run, 2 to 3 times a week. Bland water makes me feel sick and hungry. I do drink those before the run, but also during ofc.

Irrelevant, coke/pepsi are sweetened with real sugar in NZ & AUS.

Then click the first link and imagine yourself as skinny as she is. (That's probably not at all realistic for most, but it should inspire you...) Think of sugar as one of the many things that keeps you away from your goal...

Sugar is much better than pure fructose, but yeah, fair point.

The problem isnt sugar per se.
It's that sugar is perfect for the body to use as energy.

So perfect in-fact that with enough of it the body no longer needs to burn fat and eventually gets lazy and forgets how to do it properly.
This is a problem because its always storing fat and needs to burn it to keep body weight/fat in check.
