Been working on a project for the last week or so.The initial twist and pray / breadboard got me to a working stage,as is usual around here the transfer to pcb didn't go without a couple of hiccups so as always "thou shall check thy voltages" theirs the problem +5v sitting at around 8v and +3v is sitting at 5v,double check id used the right bits in the right holes and decided it must be down to not enough load, lashed in a couple of leds across the power rails remeasure, and no different, stripped the board back to just the power supply and the voltage has gone up slightly.Sod it coffee and fag time.Returned to it this morning ,switched on the meter and the low batterer symbol appears, fitted a new battery back to the circuit, the 5v rail now measures 4.9v and the 3.3v rail is solid at 3.4v,grabbed my other meter which confirmed things put the rest of the circuit back and everything is fine, well apart from the original problem. If only id grabbed my other meter when the reading didn't seem right or even just tested the meter on a know voltage source,an afternoon wasted due to low meter battery's. |

We have a Fluke at work, that the readings go haywire LONG before the low battery flag shows up! Horrible! Jon |
