Never see any Philips Kit in Greece, but looks modern = no tubes

In Greece we have, or had, three companies making electronic kits,
the PSU kit with LM723  3-30V  3A did golden sales and still does.

Best present my parents ever bought me for my birthday. I was 13 back then in 1970 and remember astounding friends in school with such projects as the light to sound convertor. It really started my interest in electronics.

This is a page with closeups of the components.. with the very impressiv(Hey its 36 years ago!!) LDR on the topp.

That is a modern one. I'm sure mine had glass OC71, OC45, and metal can AC127 and AC128 transistors.

I had an EE8 kit as a young lad back in about 1964 or so.

It came with an AF117 and an AC126 transistor, OA91 germanium diode, a bunch of resistors and capacitors, a little bulb with shroud a pot with knob a tuning capacitor, a length of ferrite rod (plus a pre-wound broadcast coil), a crystal/piezo earplug and a crude morse key.

I spent many a fond hour building (and rebuilding) and modifying the simple radios, flashing lights, water-level detector, morse key and other projects.

A wonderful way to get started in electronics -- do they still make such things?

Yes, I remember going through a few of those kits in the mid to late sixties. That was mind-blowing stuff at the time. I learned a lot from those kits and it started my hobby as well as my career I guess.

I had one from Kosmos. Sigh! Those were the good old days. 

But I rember very well the EE 2007/08 from Philips. Always wanted to have one. It cost a fortune then.
