That's a pretty heartless and rude comment, based merely on someone's Youtube persona alone.  Especially people who have lots of subscribers and make $$ from their Youtube content.  It pays to be goofy, weird, bizarre when you're trying to stand out from the crowd.

YT persona = acting ability. as to the real Photon, that is there behind the acting, and he is a very nice person, who really cares about those who he is friends with. Marriage is hard for anybody, and the reasons for it not working are hard for all to fathom.

I had stopped watching this chaps videos as they were a bit too crazy for my tastes BUT I am very grateful that this particular video has been highlighted for viewing.

As has been said....we get to see the more normal side of this chaps character. Yes he is somewhat extreme with his 'experiments' but he is obviously a decent person as well.

The story of his friend and the awful motorcycle accident was heart-breaking. A young guy in the prime of his life who almost dies and is left with truly life changing injuries....not something to be taken lightly and Photonicinduction did a very professional job of telling the story. I am genuinely sorry that his friend has been so badly injured but sadly such injuries are not that uncommon where motorcycles, human bodies and immovable hard objects are involved    I was amazed at his friends apparent attitude to his disability. He is a fighter...much like the amazing attitude and inner strength of our soldiers seriously injured in foreign lands.

Very sorry to hear that another marriage has failed. I will never poke fun at anyone in that situation and I am sad when I hear of another marriage failure. I have been married 10 years and I cannot imagine being on my own again......photonicinduction will likely have a pretty tough time over the coming months, I just hope he doesn't start taking greater risks with unfortunate consequences.

About a year ago there was a film crew in his house doing a doco which included a bit about him and his wife. Does anyone know if that aired or what it was called?

I think the show is called "You have been warned" on Discovery Channel. Not sure if it was ever aired though.

I know I shouldn't judge him from a couple videos, but the way he talks in the few videos where he's complaining about real things (like people flagging his videos), I've always gotten the feeling that he is rather abrasive under his acting persona, at least, when he gets annoyed.

I don't think he's a bad person, but I have seen enough to make me think his "people skills" might not be what they ought to be.

You trying producing youtube content that is seen by hundreds of thousands, and try not to get abrasive at the haters. It's very difficult I can assure you. You have no idea until you've been in that position of getting hate mail and negative comments every single day.

Without going into it too much, I left a comment that I felt was benign, and he flew off the handle in subsequent PMs.  So I told him to get bent.

I work a tech support type job...  I deal with negative comments all day.  Unfortunately I can't change what management decides to do, so I just shrug it off.  I know that doesn't exactly correlate to being a "content producer" (god I hate that term), but you can't let the vocal minority get to you that easily.

Oh, I'm sure it's very difficult. I certainly don't envy you, that's for sure, having to deal with the bullshit. But he seems to handle it a good bit worse than many.

On the other hand, he has videos where he has a jolly time popping balloons with his wife... or the one where they joke around and both surf the intarwebs.  It's probably just a bit unfair to kick the man while he's down by labeling him a 'nutter', when he's a guy who does a pretty good job of playing a role for a YouTube audience.  Even if you think that about him - to air it in response to the video where he tells us his wife is leaving him and his friend was almost killed in a car accident, and he is reaching out to the audience for help in helping his friend... not the time or place.

I would think he is a member here, or friends of his are.

At first I thought photoinduction was a clueless idiot but my opinion of him has changed. He's really an intelligent, sensitive and caring person. His online persona is wacky but that's just for entertainment value. He has done some crazy dangerous stuff, the video which I thought was really reckless was the one with the lasers - I really don't think he thought that one through.

I never viewed Photoinduction as someone being dumb. It's very easy to make false judgements about someone's character, simply by looking at a bunch of crazy videos... which doesn't reveal much about the person in a day-to-day situation, particularly in a professional setting.

Anyway, this was a rather depressing video. Felt sorry Photoinduction, particularly for his friend. Hope they both pull through OK into the next year. Sympathies to both of them.
