Picture attachment bug in the board software
« on: July 25, 2020, 05:10:25 pm »
I'm told there is a known bug in the picture attachment process, and indeed I recently had a picture which I attached to a post in one thread, and which looked fine at first, be replaced by a picture I posted in another thread.  I believe in both cases these were end-of-message thumbnails, and the thumbnails were all correct.  But when I later clicked on one thumbnail, the picture that came up was the one from the other thread.  I'm also seeing lots of empty boxes in others' posts.  And in some cases, some people can see the pictures, but others can't.

Is there any information about what this bug is all about, and what can be done to keep it from striking (other than not posting any pictures)?  Does it affect all forms of attachments (thumbs, full-size, inline, end-of-message)?  Is there any prospect for a code update to fix it?

Please search. It’s a known bug, no need for yet another thread discussing it.

Yep, we know about it. Gnif has been doing some testing behind the scenes. Not sure when it will be resolved, it's a strange one.
