Try your request here

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/moderation-reports/

But your old posts will not be deleted.  The best way to delete yourself, is delete any links to this forum and do not return.  Within 2 days you will be history. :-+

Sometimes I cannot find my own posts after two days.

So if a moderator does not delete your user name, do not worry.

Overreact much? You need to calm down. Badly.

I've found most on this site to be quite welcoming. Which is really nice in comparison to some other forums I visit.  :)

Well, I did check your posts to see what the fuss was about and I agree, you do need to calm down and stop overreacting as if someone was trying to steal your toys only because they have a different opinion than you. It is a sign of maturity.

If you don't care to hear what others think, then why to post in a discussion forum in the first place?

The quickest way to attract attention to something that one regrets posting is to start a "PLEASE DELETE ME" thread because you want to take your ball and go home . . . . .

LOL - a variant of the Streisand Effect?  Agree, I read the other thread as well - the OP went a bit non linear in his response to a very mild criticism.

Wow, and only whinging about buying one cheapshit scope? https://www.eevblog.com/forum/profile/?area=showposts;u=121246

If OP fancies himself a shitposter, he isn't doing a very good job of it.  Protip: to troll the internet, don't be conscientious / remorseful / sober / etc. ;D

I mean, for pete's sakes, Dave himself has written posts and videos more direct and vulgar than this.  Calm your titties, OP. :P

Especially in a thread where it's being suggested that we're rude, this is perhaps going a bit too far.

The OP was a bit thin skinned, but this forum, while better than most can pile on pretty heavily.  I guess we are human too.

This thread does show the tendency to return fire with extra volume.  Can't let a whiner get off scot free could we?

Yeah, I'd say that's a bit far now. I read a lot on here, I don't post a ton, however I do find lots of helpful folks and do believe that Gyro was quite reasonably posting. Forums can always be difficult to get a good inflection of what one is saying. I don't really think any ill will was really meant. We all have differing opinions, that's just life.

Really any equipment is difficult to get a truly overall opinion on. I did a lot of research in example before purchasing my camera. I know it has one severe flaw, particularly in relation to videos. However, I purchased said camera for photos, not videos. So what can be a game breaker for others is not a game breaker for me.

Good luck in whichever you choose to do, but I do find the community to be especially newbie friendly and helpful here, which on some other forums I've been ripped a new one for having a differing opinion. (That really is bothersome to me)

General netiquette, all caps is usually considered rude and an over use of exclamation points makes it a little more obnoxious sounding. It is just the way it comes across, it's not audible, so the difference in - Crap and CRAP!!!!!!! is more obvious than subtle things.  I believe this is what Gyro was quite mildly pointing out.

Which is said device tends to explode and hurt someone, shouting and other attention getters are more appropriate.    :)

You can delete your own posts (except ones that start threads, in which case you can edit them).
Accounts are not deleted except under extreme circumstances.

I type how I would speak. I'd hardly go around shouting "warning, warning" in real life. I think some people just change the moment the get behind a keyboard.

Sure is.  It got me to check the discussion.

As for the OP - I'm agreeing with the general consensus here.  It's pretty clear they are far too sensitive to any comment that differs from their own opinion.  Forums such as this probably aren't the place for them.

I really couldn't care less what you think, I only signed in here to warn others who may be considering this product. Ban me or delete me I couldn't give a shit!!

Please also remove the mirror in your bathroom, because it also gives an image of your own behavour.

I can't see the reason after wanting to have somebody's own anonymous profile being deleted, other than self-satisfaction.
It's not that the profile's name is "peter smith canbera street 231"

The O.P. reminds me of the kid throwing a tantrum lying on the floor kicking his feet next to the supermarket checkout because mummy has just told him she's not buying the sweets he's grabbed . . . .

I think this is symptomatic of the younger generation forumites who started out on social media then join special interest forums like this one without understanding the culture and nettiquette.  A forum like this is a far far kinder place than the sci.electronics groups in their heyday.

Anyone who started out posting on unmoderated USENET knows damm well you think three times before pressing 'Send' as that was (for most of its life) a write once medium, due to the cancelbot/repoosterbot war making cmsg cancel ineffective.   Only real lUsers used the same program for mail and news as that vastly increased the risk of idiocies like publicly posting your bank details or other personal info you'd rather not have out there!   You also either got pretty thick skinned or left USENET with your tail between your legs as if you goofed on a technical issue then were too stiff necked defending your clearly erroneous point of view, it would be likely to trigger an apocalyptic no-holds-barred flame war.

Was it , as i vaguely recall , on  sci.electronics groups the famous word battle between Barry Gillbert and Bob Pease took place?! ^-^

While it's not very nice, the alternative is very heavy moderation ... that doesn't tend to work out well.

The internet works better if everyone does their own (mental) filtering for most things.
