The fires tend to be escooter batteries, I am unsure about ebikes so left them out. escooters by not being regulated are just being sold through channels that are hard to keep track of and therefore you get dangerous junk. I mean what has anyone thinking that if they buy an escooter from a non UK seller that they will get anything that is not dangerous. As the importer the buyer has default responsibility I believe (as an importer is the first buck that CE/UKCA stops at) and after that the buyer/importer can try suing a foreign seller - good luck. And people wonder why these things catch fire?
