They definitely have a thing for boxes!!!

Only if left careless, if you put it in front of them it will be ignored.

Owner: "Here's a box for you"
Cat: "How dare you!   I will take it whenever I feel like it!"

The late Krispy Kreme taken just after his first birthday. Tragically he was killed just 2 months later by a car.

... and his sister Cookie taken just before her 6th birthday. She is still with us at a youthful 13 years of age.

Say hello to Minnie who is presently enjoying being mildly warmed by a 3D printer heated bed. (Not at full power!)

Ghost, my former feral who will be here four years in early November, is FINALLY starting to come out of her shell and becoming braver about getting into things.  The jury is still out as to whether this is good or bad...

...it could go either way.  I don't WANT her on the bench, but I also don't want to shack her and risk her backsliding on her progress.   :-//

Let's not start a political debate here! I just find the picture and text too funny not to share:

Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

This looks like a totaly normal sleeping position for a cat. Mine try the same.... lets say "potentially way more comfortable sleep positions than it looks like" on a regular basis. :-D

Well, the chicken version seems to be very common. Walter does that all the time.

Is there a reason why you cat-owners don't have a low box/tray on/near your bench, on a nice vantage point, somehow unused for some odd reason, maybe with a nice soft towel on the bottom?  Not meant for the cat, obviously; but because a cat-owners workbench just should happen to have one..  ;)

Most cats will kindly ignore the boxes you set up for them and will use any other object they see fit, and they can be very smart about detecting the spots that you want them to use or not. ;D
Oh and of course they like heat, so I'm guessing the CRT monitor makes a maybe not that comfy, but warm spot to sleep on (and it gets to annoy the owner a tiny bit, which is always a bonus.)

You mean reverse psychology does not work on cats?

I've found that a curious cat who doesn't want to seem too human-friendly, is easy to distract by using a rope/belt/string tied into a small circle, and then placing it in your own lap.  Thus far, the ownership of the thus ringed area seems more important than being aloof.  Anyone else tried that?

Earlier the week I was out in the rain, cursing builders who destroy intercom wiring, disabling the door. Lightning flash, and the rumble, so look up to see Tequila looking attentively at me from his perch at the window, and then, looking at the next one, Cachaça is there as well, looking as well. I had to go up afterwards to visit them, seeing as they both were giving silent meows to me. Yes they are both named after drinks, the previous cat was Bacardi, who was an identical looker to the one in the advert.

You're pronouncing Brexit PROPERLY; how very DARE you! If you ask one of my fellow Brits, usually an "upper middle-class" one, they'll throw in some eggs for free:

BrEGGzit!  :palm:

How many eggs, and since when did eggs come into the word?
