Title: Project Tinkertoy
Post by: gnavigator1007 on November 29, 2016, 08:19:32 pm
Just watched this video on Project Tinkertoy. Thought others might find it as interesting as I did. This person's channel has tons of old educational films and is constantly adding more.  Some of the old manufacturing processes are just incredible to watch.

I just watched that too. The only place I ever saw anything like that was the ceramic boards in old Tek scopes. All the many years I have spent playing with old military, scientific, and industrial gear I cant say that I have ever seen one of those. If you could have shown them a modern plated through solder masked FR-4 board they would have had their minds blown. It is so much easier and was well within their abilities of the time. They just did not put the ideas together until a few decades later.
