PSU floating at 120V
« on: January 04, 2023, 01:00:15 am »
Anyone got a LX120400 12V4A power supply? The output on the one I have, plugged into 240V mains, is floating at 120V - enough to give a very sharp, burning tingle when touched (current is, fortunately, ~25uA). Just wondering if this one has a fault of if they're all like this.

They'll all be like that, because that's the classic SMPSU 'Y' capacitor leakage you usually get from all SMPSUs that don't have a three pin mains connector providing ground to either the secondary side,or (rarely) an inter-winding screen.
