Title: Question about Falstad NE555 pinout
Post by: kalel on June 08, 2017, 02:37:36 am
Falstad has some nice NE555 timer circuits which you can modify and play around with, but I would like to ask bout connecting the same pins on a real chip.

I have checked this page:
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ne555.pdf (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ne555.pdf)
(Page 3, package on the left is what I have some of)

And would like to confirm the Falstad markings with you,
e.g. here: http://tinyurl.com/yc6zqprd (http://tinyurl.com/yc6zqprd)

Vin = Pin 8 (vcc)
dis = Pin 7 (disch)
tr = Pin 2 (trig)
th = Pin 6 (thres)
ctl = ?
rst = Pin 4 (reset)
out = Pin 3 (out)

"ctl" is Pin 5, called "CONT" in the TI datasheet. Both stand for "control".
