| Question on a AC/DC Electric motor |
| (1/1) |
| larrybl:
Working on a 110V AC/DC motor for a vintage sewing machine, and got mixed results when operating it on ~30V AC and DC. As this has a 2 prong non grounded AC plug, should I modify this to run off of ~100 V DC? I don't think the hi-tech speed controller will care. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aale0_4ke7w&feature=youtu.be |

It's just a universal motor. Run it on AC or DC as you want. If you're concerned about safety, add an earth connection to the case. |

Thanks! I am worried more about safety. |

Ordered a new drive wheel for the motor. Lots of sanding and varnish in the future. |
