Electronics Help in Toronto
« on: March 05, 2014, 04:54:02 pm »
I'm looking for someone to help me with learning electronics. I've been teaching myself for about a month. I am not a student, so no homework assignments or anything like that. What I'm looking for is someone I can meet up with once a week. I will pay you for your time.

What I had in mind is that throughout the week I'd write down any questions I have and when we meet up we could go through the list and figure them out. I've been using various sources to teach myself including "The Art of Electronics", various electronics websites, youtube videos and forums such as this one. I've also got a book with breadboard projects that I'm working my way through for some practical circuit building experience and to help ground theoretical concepts in practice.

Feel free to message me directly or reply here with any questions.

In Toronto there is unique hobby oriented course, reasonably priced:

http://www.taylorhobby.com/

http://lift.ca/workshops/introduction-electronics-artists

In other cities, check the AED listing: adult education courses; many are substantially discounted if its not degree oriented and are often taught on the side by many Universities or community colleges.

Best Wishes,

I took Roy Taylor's beginning electronics course a couple years ago. He's a great teacher. Unfortunately our schedules conflict, otherwise I'd go back. I'll take a look at the lift.ca site. Thanks for the suggestions!

Enjoy, good luck.  One thing the courses teach you beyond theory is where to buy the good stuff locally.
