NASA mission imagination
« on: January 12, 2016, 10:28:21 pm »
I just came across this video:

and I wonder, what they will actually do (the website seems to be offline) and if it is interesting for one of you guys. Seems to be a very new idea (uploaded 12/1/16). Will it be worth tracking or is that a joke?

BTW: In the preview the video is just linked. How can I embedd this into the post?

It seems as they were working together. But it is really strange,  apart from that video, I can find nothing on the Internet about it.

They've been doing some interesting stuff on the ISS lately, I think they might be preparing for a space walk.  No idea if it has anything to do with this.   Been watching the live view, it's pretty interesting.

An update:
Now (about 2 weeks later), there is a lot more information...
TI has set up a page about it: https://education.ti.com/en/us/about/press-center/press-listing-content-module/1-14-2016-mission-imagination
NASA has brought out a press release (a day later): http://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-texas-instruments-launch-mission-imagination
And the website mentioned above is now online as well: http://www.missionimagination.com

This campaign seems to be inline with one of NASA's three core missions, inspiring children into STEM and engineering.

Here is a Nasa Administrator articulating his three core missions:

I think what we are looking at here is a educational program for schools. Perhaps not yet ready to go out to the public as such. I say good. The kids need something to get excited about thats not played on an IPad.
