Repair a motherboard hd recorder

Hi im new to here  i looking for troubleshooting  techniques for repairing  sagem hd recorder which is  totally  dead any tips would be helpful

Check voltages first, and by extension the power supply. A lot of faults boil down to the power supply, especially those of totally dead devices.

If no visible damage try gradually heating the power supply up with a hair dryer for a couple of minutes not too close or such and if it turns on it will be the caps.
