I've ordered a replacement LiPo pack for my car dash cam as the original battery has swelled. The replacement battery has 3 leads.
The third lead is yellow and marked with a 'T' on the battery PCB. I'm assuming this is some kind of temperature monitoring?
It is safe just to connect the positive and negative leads to the dash cam, leaving off the third lead (there is nowhere to connect it)?
Since the new battery has a small PCB, I assume this contains protection circuitry in addition to whatever charge management is being done by the dash cam itself.
