Resistor Identification
(1/1)
Lani:
Hey there folks.... I have a bunch of these resistors but they all came in unmarked bags so I'm unsure who the manufacturer is.  It came in a lot that also had RN55 Dale/Vishay resistors so I would assume that they are also Dale/Vishay but cant seem to find a datasheet for them.  Anyone recognize these?
EPAIII:
That's quite an assortment. Most of them seem to have a brown band that is spaced a bit wider at one end. That is probably a 1% marking and explains the use of four bands instead of three for the value: three significant digits and a multiplier.

You did not include anything in the photo for a size comparison so it is difficult to say what power rating they may have. But if I had to guess I would say either 1/2W or, more likely 1/4W. But then, often the higher precision resistors will have different sizes.

As for the type of construction, if you don't mind losing one, you could break it apart to examine the insides. The outer coating will probably chip off if you apply pressure with a pair of pliers.

And the values can be confirmed with a good Ohm meter.

Thanks for the reply!!  I've been looking into it a bit more and I think I found the type.  I believe they are the Vishay CCF55 but they are metal film while these, to my eyes at least, look to be carbon film.  The body and the leads are non magnetic which would point to carbon film wouldn't it?.  But the datasheet says that the CCF are metal film.... strange considering the CCF55. They are indeed 1/4W (sorry about that).  Broke a few in half too (pic below).  So maybe they are a different manufacturer, like PRP, or BC  :-//

Edit - Added CCF datasheet
