Jeez, sorry I missed this thread, like Mecha I was away.  What a great story, and my habit is to have at least 2 of these venerable old gear incase trouble occurs and I need it to work; at worst I cannibalize one and get one working best.  The condition of the diff amp board is incredible, being so old.
