Yeah, could the internet DROP this tedious idiotic habit of appending <* porn> to the end of their favourite subject.

Please, but I know you won’t. It’s IDIOTIC, and juvenile.

pornography (n)
1: the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2: material (such as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement
3: the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction

seems like a dictionary-correct use of the word

Have a look -

https://1061evansville.com/can-we-please-stop-describing-everything-as-whatever-porn/

It’s about not following along with internet ways and being a lemming, basically. Doing that demonstrates a clear deficit in discernment.

Reminds me a little of the inside of a HP spectrum analyzer.

In Part 7, what is the purpose of the illuminated switch labeled "21 Hz  400 Hz"?  I know 400 Hz is a common power distribution in aircraft, but have never seen 21 Hz anywhere.

Likely it is the lock bandwidth of the phase lock loop.

I find it beyond fascinating how 50+ years ago engineers managed to design what they were required to design. With the limited available technology, as compared to the modern one.

So it it does qualify as porn to me.

In Part 9, the beautiful digital display did not use Nixie tubes, but back-projected characters.  Each possible character had an incandescent light, a small transparency with the character on it, and a lens focused on the back of a screen.
I remember seeing them on digital counters in the early '70s, but can't remember the manufacturer.  I did find this US patent:  https://patents.google.com/patent/US3041600
An advantage was the capability of projecting arbitrary characters if you made the correct transparency, including +/-, units, or other messages.
