We had RGB RAM sticks, RGB motherboards, and even RGB power supply modular cables. And now we have RGB SSDs, and not just RGB LEDs, but a full TFT LCD panel on it just for the show.

RGB in PC case mods is best done with WS2812 strips connected to an Arduino or other microcontroller.

This is what happens when you put too much blink on your stuff:

What’d they do, run each LED off the 12V rail with an individual dropper resistor?

But really... 75 LEDs?? It doesn’t even look that bright, which makes me wonder how much of the heat is the LEDs themselves and how much is the drive electronics...

Yes, pretty pointless. I hate this kind of crap. By the way the person in the video speaks far too quickly.

That's my thought as well.   I have no experience with consumer RGB stuff but going to guess it's super proprietary and each product uses it's own thing.  Probably need special software which probably only runs in windows.

Best to setup everything yourself to work all together.

Nice. I can't wait for a nice set of screwdrivers with a 600DPI IPS display allowing you to be notified of Twitter posts.

No sense.

Anyway in my experience for a female customer the colors are more important than the specs.
