This makes far too much sense, it will never be implemented! 

For now, try to avoid buying the planned-obsolete garbage in the first place....  educate your non-technical friends and family members about it...

EU already has a mandatory 2 year warranty, which is a good place to start.
So much stuff here only comes with 1 year or even 6 month warranty. If you can't design an electronic part that lasts longer than a year, you've really failed.

Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures
