Rigol DS1052E firmware 2.05, can it be downgraded and hacked?

I thought I would buy a Rigol DS1052E and hack it to DS1102E.

I asked the USA seller which firmware the unit has. The seller told me it has "firmware 2.05 without bug" (whatever that means). Can this firmware be downgraded to be hacked successfully?

Which tools and steps would I take to do it?
