Tough inexpensive quality analog Multimeter suggestions ???
« on: January 30, 2011, 06:44:40 pm »
Looking for suggestions for a good tough inexpensive analog multimeter to use in the field for H.D. and Automotive mechanical work.....something available in Canada/U.S......the Sanwa YX360TRF has been suggested due to it`s extreme durability and low cost...however try and find a retailer in North America.

I own a Simpson 260 and very pleased with it......not the kind of thing to be taking out in the weather doing field work !!!

Suggestions ?

Hello,

Did you try the US link I posted earlier?  I can't believe the price, but worth exploring:

http://www.homeschoolingsupply.com/united-scientific/science-equipment-fis-yx360trf.htm

A Canadian source I recall is:

http://www.bhumika.ca/instrumentations/amt/yx-360trd.htm

I recall the going rate is about $30 US, many sell it for 2-3x that so FYI.

Good hunting.  Beware of sellers passing off the counterfeit meter as the real thing.

Just checked the U.S. link at $22.97 & $12.90 shipping......cheap alright....they don`t take Pay-pal outside of the US........the Canadian source I will have to call......no on-line purchasing from what I see......looking better, I may have one of these meters yet....or a couple at that price.

2 Other options:

http://www.directindustry.com/prod/sanwa-electric-instrument/analog-multimeters-33114-235347.html

And the home page in Japan, just follow to US and Canadian distributors:

Good luck again, keep us posted and review it for us if you get it, please.
