Rigol Price Increase
« on: April 08, 2015, 02:29:28 pm »
I've just received an e-mail saying Rigol have issued a new price list for their products. It looks like we are going to see an increase of between 10 and 15% on the majority of equipment by 15th April, so anyone thinking about buying something might want to order quickly!

We'll be updating our website on 15th April to reflect the new price increases. Our 10% discount code is still valid if anyone is interested in buying before the 15th - enter 'rigolcomp' at checkout. Sorry no DS1054Zs in stock at the moment though  :(

Looks like Rigol have seen the phenomenal success of the DS1054Z as a good indicator that they are underpriced. Well, they have no competitors offering similar features at the same price so I can't really disagree...

I never understood how they made their previous line (DS1000E) so cheap, kept a good quality, and now their current line (DS1000Z) is even cheaper?

Good for Rigol: compete on quality and services and not on price.

There is no point in having el cheapo customers.

Sometime low price/higher quantity sold gives more profit than higher price/lower quantity.

But, honestly 10-15% is not too much of a raise in price.   I do wonder if the raise in the U.S. Dollar will start having any deflationary impact on this imported gear though.

It will be interesting to see in 2015 if there is any competitors who will even come close.

Surely Owan, and the others will try.   Or has Rigol spanked them so damn hard they are just going to give up?

I just got an automatic email from Batronix, with a link to a complete new/old price list.

http://www.batronix.com/pdf/Priceadjustment_Rigol.pdf

One line I picked:
DS1054Z 50 MHz, 4 ch, 1 GS/s 339,00 € 299,00 €

The options are also listed with their price, what a waste of pdf space :-)
