RIP Sir Clive Sinclair
eti:
My Dad remembers cycling across Cambridge to their factory to collect a kit, at some point in the past.
I must say that his products always had a certain “Alan Sugar” vibe to them, and that’s not a compliment.

BBC documentary just released to their archive

He also did a shockingly poor early class D audio amp as a kit, and does anyone else remember the flat telly they did?
andy3055:
Yep, I remember the time a friend of mine had one of his kit amps. The top of those transistors would just fall off all the time and I ended up replacing them with Japanese transistors. This was in the mid '70s!
He catered to the kids who couldn't afford to buy expensive stuff. It was fun putting them together!
MT:
Dave did a teardown on the flatty tube in 2013.
