Title: Sam DLP TV: “No Input Devices…”
Post by: iXod on November 15, 2021, 04:51:07 am
Samsung HLS5087 DLP TV was working just fine for years. After being unused (but not unplugged) for 4 days, it now won’t show Over The Air signals (just snow—yes, analog snow) or HDMI sources. When I press the Input Select, it displays this: “No input devices connected,” although my standard HDMI devices are connected (same cables, same devices, same ports).

Although this problem isn’t a problem with HDMI cables or sources (I’m not getting OTA signal either), I swapped HDMI cables and checked for loose connections. Also unplugged mains power for an hour. No joy.

What is strange is that until today, if no inputs were connected, the TV would show solid black screen and would rotate between the inputs, displaying the channel number; or “HDMI1”; or “HDMI2”. In the years I’ve owned this TV it has never displayed the “No input devices…” message.

I entered Service Mode and selected Factory Reset. No joy.

Anybody experienced this message on their Samsung TV before?

And please, no hate for DLP.

Thanks.
