Model # and size of screen please.
Probably nonserviceable tab bond fault, a shim can be applied but the repair risks further damage and may not last.

Open it up. If you find a CHI MEI Optoelectronics V260B1 panel, you know you're in for a tab bond repair...

I have a Samsung with a Chi Meng, needless to say, it sucks.  So much image persistence that it's disgusting.  And contrast ratio is no where near advertised specs.

Yes, I hate Chi Mei panels too. They are generally just very poor quality, not just reliability wise but also crappy image quality. For a cheap panel AUO isn't too bad. My Samsung LED has an AUO panel, and my iiyama CCFL has a Chi Mei panel. The difference between them in pure motion performance is just night and day.
