Title: Selecting a suitable Schottky / Blocking Diode...
Post by: bigjoncoop on March 27, 2023, 08:02:20 am
When using a Schottky diode "ONLY" in reverse bias, is voltage the only rating that's important?

No, the problem with schotkkys is their high leakage current and increasing with temperature, so I'd say they are the worst diode to choose for just "blocking"

Could you explain what "only in reverse bias" means, or post a drawing?

Maybe as a snubber on a relay coil?
