Sending a Philips PM-8252a voltage-logger to Dave
« on: June 11, 2012, 06:25:54 pm »
I have an old voltage logger, a Philips PM-8252a that I would like to send to Dave for a teardown/mailbag episode.  ;) But the shipment would end up close to 170 Australian dollar from Sweden!

Maybe someone knows a "trick" on how to get things shipped cheaply from Sweden to Australia?

put it in a bottle and throw it in the ocen , hoping the currents will eventually wash it up  in kangaroo land ?

Considering the intended purpose; take it apart and send pictures :)

Send it to someone en route and get them todo the same. Get a list of volunteers on here to map out a route.

That's how "Travel Bugs" in Geocaching work.

Sending big heavy stuff overseas is just expensive, not much you can do about it.

The only cheap way I can think of is to ask fellow members of the forums to chip on on the shipping cost. If interest in this particular unit is high enough maybe some people are willing to cover part of the shipping cost to see it get taken appart by that "crazy Aussi". Start a paypal fund ... or send the unit to Mike for an extreme teardown. :P
