Is it possible to test a transistor with a oscilloscope I hope that this is the right place to post

Not directly but an oscilloscope in X-Y mode can be used as part of a curve tracer.

And it works quite well, also.  I made a little printed circuit board for it and mounted it inside a case along with a 5Vdc power supply for a multitasking box.
