| Similar issue, as BrianHG posted; How to disable YouTube sends vids |

| RJSV:
Thank you Alex. I will also check / get more info, next time I get a video incoming. I would have a 'better' attitude here, if my book was helpful 'Android for Dummies' is no help for these issues. (That's why I bought that book, to figure out OS problems!) |
| RJSV:
OK, I just barely qualify as a user, like I said, bought the book, so I could begin to navigate around the various screens. I'm an old-school hardware guy, that migrated over to writing machine language coding (Z-80 6502 8-bit). Going into 'settings' and YouTube app. I'm pretty sure YOUTUBE has 'INSTALLED ITSELF' with all the permissions and APP notifications are all turned on. That would have been a couple weeks ago. BELIEVABLE ? Yes, maybe hacked, or perhaps yt has ways to 'sneak'. I surely did not 'INSTALL' anything! (I'm likely too ignorant to do any sensible INSTALL...LOL. I'm going to wait a few hours, until another video offer is announced, then I'll go into 'settings' and see about blocking notifications. This stuff is really supposed to be covered, In my book. Local recreation Dept. has computer classes for someone like myself, which I've been planned on attending |

You can go into the settings at any time. Just launch YT app manually. |

Thanks folks. I'm going to grab my 'Adnoids for Dummies' book, for the evening, and try see what description is there, with APP notifications and permissions. The cellphone DID list YouTube as having been loaded by Google Play. I didn't do any of that. Anyway, will let you know in am. By the way, as a 'green' or unaccomplished user, have more questions, about my Android OS phone, text entry; What's going on with recent keyboard 'spelling' and format changes ? And, does that (question) apply to Android only ? Text entry has gone bad, where the system inserts all kinds of nonsense, while typing. Doing things like changing on-line to read 'in-line'. I typed 'what' (or approximately) and the OS putting 'wh. hatte' or some similar nonsense. It's almost like an AI approach, gone bad, or released too early. I've recognized this latest text entry bug, on text entered by others, here on EEVBLOG. Almost like my finger 'wandered' up into the word suggest line (above the regular keys). |
| ataradov:
There are a million different keyboards for Android, and even the stock ones differ from version to version of the OS. Most of them will present the more often used spellings. It is likely that you mistyped that stuff in the past and it thinks you want it. Correct it a few times and it will learn the new thing. |
