Similar issue, as BrianHG posted; How to disable YouTube sends vids
tom66:
YouTube app comes as standard on every Android phone using Google Play services, which yours likely does. It's probably always been there, it's just that Google have started using the notification permissions that Alcatel have left switched on, perhaps because they're trying to boost engagement or some such crap.
You can easily remove the app if you don't want it, or block the notifications, from the 'Settings' page.

Yes, thanks Tom66, I'm looking right now, at book, Android for Dummies.
Have to play with that, a bit, as I don't know which permission to switch off, in the APPs sub-page.
I do want to continue casual use of YouTube, being a big fan of classic rock.
I think maybe what happened, to get my attention, was I perhaps accidently pressed or swiped a 'subscribe' or similar button. But I suspect, many APPs cheat,.....just a tiny little bit...such as using an enlarged button area (with smaller graphic ICON).
I'm going to spend a bit of time, exploring my Android book, on the various APP related features.
By the way, the current phone hardware is OLD, by modern standards (purchased in 2020). The CHROME features can be very messed up; for instance will 'flash' for a split second, to a video I had played days previous.
Also some text displays get garbaged, probably due to RAM heat related errors. Phone has been dropped, a couple times, which leads to cellphone microphone / jack failures. A good wack, on upper corner seems to clear the jack switch, from failure o.c. (as the speaker mute, when headphones are plugged in).
Awesome devices, though, with a decent pair of wireless headphones.
I enjoy Rock Musician biographies, and other 'creativity' issues.

You can kind of see how this goes...dug out the book, now it's just sitting on the desk.
But I did some exploration, and guessing, about how to avoid [YouTube] following me around, so to speak. As I've described, they PUSH-FEED (is there a common term for that ?), pushing down a 'Recommended' video, often from within my sphere of interests, which some folks actually like.
A guess of how that happens is that the 'notifications' maybe got changed as of Sept. 1, when a new YouTube APP update came automatically. Clever 'accident' that comes just as yt changed to heavy advertising modes.
Looking through the phone settings for yt shows things like 'allow overwrite of screen' etc.
No problem, if people like the topics and recurrent notifications, but I didn't.
That thing is 'cyberstalking', mildly, but if I'm right about the permission getting changed, that's partially because YouTube has access (to me), by way of the whole Google and Android semi-monopoly. Yt knows, to the minute, when I get up, out of bed, or other movements after longer pauses with phone motion sensing.
Another aspect; a competitor doesn't have that cozy relation (w. parent Google), to use for enhancing their advertisor functions.
At any rate, it does not look like I had accidently pressed a 'subscribe' button. No, yt is probably using my yt history to obtain a list of possible topics, (like watch repair etc.).
Thanks.
