{bought HT118A £16 delivered}

Thanks

Got Amazon Prime, need a 6000 count DMM delivered tonight via prime (there's a few, I'm looking at HT118A) - am no one's fool, abundantly aware that the torrents of "reviews" Amazon churns out are of as much worth as a wax kettle.  :-DD

So... I'm here seeking advice from those whom have amassed vast collections of DMMs  ;D

Oh and my budget is £30 UK.

Muchos GravyBoats.

Thanks for the input. I got me a "Kaiweets" (straaaaange name...) HT118A - I can't work out how to measure 200Khz or 5Mhz with it, though, I seem to get no reading. Maybe I am missing something - why are there "Hz" markers on multiple range switch selections?

The frequency count function on most multimeters is a toy at best.  Use a real universal counter, or an oscilloscope if precise frequency measurement isn't critical. For one, the thresholds and amplitudes are rarely well controlled, and their behavior on complex inputs (with more than just a fundamental) is also poorly defined.

Yep, I got that impression. However, seeing as the feature is there, I'd still like to use it, and so how would I achieve that please? Thanks.

Look at the product images on Amazon or Aliexpress carefully, I bet you can figure it out!

Not yet, although I now have a somewhat more troubling issue with the HT118A... contrary to YouTube teardowns etc, the rear of my unit has ZERO access holes through which to facilitate the insertion of a screwdriver to remove the back and replace fuses etc... (On the YouTube review units there appeared to be four holes, one per corner on the rear) but on mine it's over-moulded with what seems to be a PERMANENT flexible shroud which is non-removable ...

Absolute genius! Back it goes  :-DD
