SkyRC Thermister connector pinout
(1/1)
pcm81:
I have SkyRC D400 charger which i use to charge NiMH battery pack. The battery pack has a built in thermister: NTCLE100E3103JB0. What i would like to know is:
For standard temperature probe connector what are the 3 wires? In most schematics i see V+, GND and thermister reference, is that basically also what i need to connect to the 3 wire "temperature" port? Here is the charger spec: https://www.skyrc.com/Charger/D400_Charger but it does not show pin-out for the temperature sensor. Is it something proprietary for their sensor or is there a standard pin-out for these 3-pin connectors?
The skyrc temperature sensor is a stand alone unit: https://www.skyrc.com/Temperature_Sensor with 3 wire interface, does that mean skyrc has power and ground connections internally made to battery V+ and GND on 2 of those wires, so that means i need to add a balance resistor to the NTCLE100E3103JB0 thermister but NOT Vbatt and GNDbatt connections to pin 1 and 3? Basically trying to find some standard if any exist for these temperature hook-ups.
Thanks

You'll have to figure it out by measuring or opening up the probe that you have.
If you are lucky, its a NTC divider inside the probe, 10k between two leads, then 10k NTC between adjacent lead. Measuring resistances between those 3 leads should confirm this.
If you are not so lucky, its something like a LM35 or DS18B20 IC in there. Then you'll have to build your own sensor or buy their version.
