Title: small parts storage drawers
Post by: Deathwish on August 06, 2015, 11:41:09 am
I kind of like the colour and size. Anyone know of a cheaper source for such types.

I've seen similar design cabinets to that one here in NZ, the drawers don't have any detent resistance etc holding them closed, tip the cabinet forward and the drawers fall out - earthquake, or clumsiness would easily result in contents all over the floor.

That one may not be the same, but you might want to check it, given the choice I'd never get a cabinet like that unless the drawers click shut properly.

I found the price to be a little high after adding it to my cart, with shipping etc it came to about £32. So I ordered this instead. Will be here today

Expect it to arrive bent and dented! I see hundreds of these returned because of shitty packaging. In fact I have 3 in front of me I'm just about to chuck in the skip, only slight damage but they would cost more to ship than they are worth.

Never throw anything like this out, the outer case may be carp but the drawers are useful, especially when you know how to build cabinets to put the drawers in........

Get some REAL parts drawers...

I have used these before in industry and they are superb. I find cheapo parts draws are a pain - they jam up, the dividers pop up allowing component mix and they feel cheap. Sure, these cost a mint, but quality is worth paying for.

Well I would like the cases too, it may take me a while to get the cash now to buy the timber for the cabinets,I am thinking of MDF with a back....  Im too busy spending lots on here with you and KJDS......to run around right now doing it. but I will

Point is Ian you should offer such things to us cheapskates on here BEFORE throwing it in the skip.... someone will buy it.

I meant you get the 3 complete units plus a load of loose Linn Bins to fill the space.

There was a Canadian company called Integrated Plastics that made a really good system where groups of drawers interlocked with each other allowing you to build basically whatever configuration you wanted.  I just managed to buy-out a distributor of their old stock
