SMD Package Help

(1/1)

marc.hickling:
Hey I have this inductor L6 and need to find the package, I have no idea what package it is or the manufacturer as its for a repair. see attachment

thanks

VK3DRB:
It looks like a common mode choke. Surface mounted common mode chokes are often not in a standard package and do not have a standard footprint. If it is a common mode choke, the opposite terminals should measure less than a few ohms, and the terminals next to each other should be open circuit (measured when removed from the circuit). Common mode chokes rarely fail.

If you can get the schematic for the product, it should tell you exactly what the part and its part number is, then Google the part number.

daqq:
It's likely a common mode choke. Visually it seems similar to:

Parametrically no clue.

bob91343:
Those units aren't likely very effective.  Replacing with the one you linked probably would be fine.  A common mode choke is usually more for contingency than actual filtering, and this one with a piece of ferrite is likely rather ineffectual for most situations.
