Snail tape prototyping!
(1/1)
ChristofferB:
I'm sure we can all relate to the torment of having snails in our circuits..

All kidding aside, I've found a product in the hardware store called "snail tape".

It is 50mm adhesive backed copper foil, that I believe is marketed to put at the lower edge of doors or around flower pots to keep snails away. Copper is pretty toxic for them, I think.

However it is excellent for prototyping, adding ground planes and power rails on prototypes, making RF tight plastic enclosures and so on! It is much cheaper than the good copper tape you can get for electronics works, too. In normal soldering use, I havent seen the adhesive fail or peel.

Thought I should share :)

I have always used 3M.  Looking at Digi-Key, I wonder if they are no longer selling it.

My stock is slowly running out and it seems you have found an easy way for me to obtain it.
