| Solder Fume Extractor VS Window Hose Pipe Ventilation Fan |
| (1/1) |
| jonovid:
why use a fan-forced activated carbon filtration unit whan a small ventilation fan, same vacuum cleaner hose pipe & window port will do. we have kitchen range hoods & wood stoves have chimney pipes. so why not just add a plexiglass sheet with an air port into a window as you would a window air conditioner. my lab room is well-ventilated room as it is. so solder smoke is not a problem for the limited amount of soldering work I do. I still wonder why so many soldering stations are in unventilated rooms with no accessible window? requiring closed loop fan-forced carbon filtration units. |

Not a small fan, not a narrow vacuum cleaner hose and not everywhere you can put a window port without too much trouble. |

If the option is available, venting outside is a great choice. Put the fan on the remote end and the flex duct will substantially reduce the noise so that you can use a much more powerful one. |
