Something is wrong with mouser

Prime seems to have recovered over here in Blighty, including same day, and it's been reliable for some time, although it was quite unreliable for a period last year.

Prime Now, the 2-hour window grocery side, I don't think has ever recovered, it now seems to have rebranded itself into Amazon Fresh.

Getting delivery slots for any grocery shop has never been easy since the pandemic started.

I don't have a TV subscription, Netflix etc. Prime Video provides the variety I need since I rarely watch much anyway. If I had Netflix (I used to) it would either be a waste of money or a waste of my time or both. Generally, the programming doesn't interest me.

Yeah, I used to watch movies on Prime as well.  But the quality of the non-paid movies were spotty, I ended up paying for many of the ones I watched.

Let's see how it goes, if the numbers don't make sense I'll rejoin!

There were a few months last year when Amazon was having a hard time around here (Sacramento) and things sometimes took a week.  But since last fall we've been back to 1-2 day delivery on most things.

I'm not trying to hold Digikey and Mouser to the same bar as Amazon, but both seem to have gotten dramatically worse in a short period of time.  I get that we had some big storms but that was weeks ago.  I wonder if they're having trouble hiring in their warehouses - those jobs can't pay a ton, and with unemployment now being extended for who knows how long maybe people just don't want the jobs.  It's a good thing for them shipping from China is either slow or expensive.

I played around with the streaming for a while at my friend's place and wasn't too impressed. IIRC there was no way to browse just the free movies, they were all mixed in with the stuff that costs money. I just don't buy enough stuff for Prime to make sense, maybe it's a good deal if you order a lot but I probably place 5 or 6 Amazon orders a year. It used to be it could make sense for buying small items but then they changed a lot of those small items to "add-ons" that you can't get free shipping on their own anyway.

A bigger issue than all that is the support. It used to be Amazon had fantastic support, you could easily email or call them and they were friendly and efficient. Now you can't even email them anymore, you have to use one of those stupid automated chat systems that eventually will connect you to a chat center in India or someplace. The last time I dealt with it I had a device I bought that was defective, the manufacture told me they don't support things sold by Amazon and Amazon tried to pass the buck to the manufacture. I complained and the guy authorized a return but acted like he was doing me a one time favor. For a company that claims to be "customer obsessed" color me unimpressed. Their support is no better than anywhere else anymore.

It is possible to show the stuff that's included:

which is great because there's a lot of crap on the main Prime Video page I have no interest in and rarely want to buy. It is a bit of detective work to find movies I'd like to watch. The suggestion algorithm has come up with some interesting movies I hadn't heard of and enjoyed.
