I have stopped buying from Mouser. They have that deceptive marketing gimmick of a countdown clock for same-day shipping, and then sit on the order for 2-3 days before processing it. This has happened three times in a row over the last few months. I get reliably great service from Digikey. And Arrow last month. |

Thats what lead me to believe that there is something else going on, although clearly weather has had a huge impact. Anyway I'm not that dramatic and I still trust them, although due to this I have also started ordering more from Digikey |

Mouser is hiring at Mansfield Texas, apparently they need dozens more warehouse people and developers for some time now. I guess it means they are short staffed. "Pete Shopp, Senior Vice President for Mouser Electronics said, “We were supplying electronic components to ventilator manufacturers on a global basis." https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2021/03/04/now-hiring-mouser-electronics-hiring-for-dozens-of-positions/ I knew it was those ventilators. |

And now I can add Digikey to the list. I placed an order for parts on the morning of Mar 3. Everything was in stock. Got an immediate confirmation. Three days later, it still has not shipped. Prior to this, I could count on having it in my mailbox in three days. I sent an email to their CS dep't yesterday, and they have not responded. I find it hard to believe that the cause of these delays is that these companies are swamped with orders. Warehousing and order fulfillment are little affected by mask-wearing and social distancing. |

FWIW I'd forgotten about a package I had ordered from Mouser on 13 February: Mouser said it was dispatched on 19 February, but Fedex only picked it up on 26 February, and it arrived 4 March (UK). While this was weather related, Mouser/Fedex have been losing the edge over Digikey/UPS for me over the past few years for UK delivery. It used to be two days, but it slipped to three or four, and with Covid it's been more like a week or so. Without the weather, the problem seems to be mostly that orders just aren't shipped the same day anymore from Mouser IME. Digikey are, in my experience, significantly more consistent than Mouser nowadays. |
